Primary Function

The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for troubleshooting problems and restoring the customer’s computer to working condition. Responsible for a range of tasks including configuring, testing, and troubleshooting network and wireless issues, setting up user accounts, and formatting and setting up desktop and laptop computers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• New hire set up, including establishing emails, activating access badges, setting up work stations, etc.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
• Train and guide staff hardware and software usage.
• Set up new computer systems, perform routine maintenance, and assist in application installs
• Identify and resolve hardware and software problems
• Assist in technical upgrading and maintaining of entire desktop systems
• Endorse and apply upgrades to systems to ensure durability.

Educational and or Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field required
• 0-3 years of related database administration experience
• Knowledge and experience of the following computer applications: Solomon, VMware, NetApp, ERP System, CRM, SQL, visual basic, .net programming, and vb.net
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other applications are plus
