Utility transport vehicle to benefit the town’s Public Works Department

WENDELL, N.C.— June 30, 2016—KIOTI Tractor, a division of Daedong-USA, Inc., was excited to participate in the Town of Wendell’s first annual Big Truck Day earlier this month in downtown Wendell. The event, hosted by Wendell Parks and Recreation, attracted over 1,000 attendees of all ages, eager to view dump trucks, monster trucks, fire trucks, utility vehicles, farm tractors and more on display. To commemorate the event’s debut, KIOTI Tractor donated a pink MECHRON® 2200 UTV to the Town of Wendell.

“We have enjoyed being a corporate partner to the Town of Wendell since moving our headquarters here in 2004,” says Peter Dong-Kyun Kim, president and CEO of Daedong-USA, Inc., KIOTI Tractor Division. “It was an honor for our team to donate the UTV to our hometown, and to educate young children about the power behind KIOTI Tractor’s machines.”

The 2016 Big Truck Day provided attendees with the opportunity to touch, learn and play with large vehicles and machinery on display. KIOTI Tractor representatives, Chris Whitley and Emma Nelli, spoke with children and families about the operating capabilities of each KIOTI Tractor model on display, including: the fuel-efficient NX5010, the two-row MECHRON 2240, and the sub compact CS2410 with attached front end loader and backhoe. In addition, KIOTI Tractor showcased the pink MECHRON 2200, later donated to the Town of Wendell.

“KIOTI’s contribution and support of the Town and community is an indication of the strong corporate leader KIOTI depicts within the municipality,” says Mayor of Wendell, Virginia Gray. “We are honored to have received this donation and are grateful for the opportunities it will provide the Public Works Department in serving the citizens of Wendell.”

The large cargo bed and 1,100 lbs. hauling capacity of the MECHRON® 2200 will allow the Public Works Department to be more efficient in servicing the Town of Wendell. From clearing debris such as rocks that block stream beds and culverts, to removing limbs from roads, and navigating through crowds at events such as the annual Harvest Festival, the MECHRON 2200 will serve the Town in more ways than one.

“Without the generosity of KIOTI Tractor, owning such a versatile piece of equipment would be beyond our town’s financial reach. Through corporate sponsors like KIOTI, the Town of Wendell will continue to grow and be recognized as a great place to live, work, play and raise a family.,” adds Gray.

Previously, KIOTI Tractor has donated multiple MECHRON® 2200’s to the Town of Wendell’s police and fire departments.
